Faith, Charity and the story of Reg.
An Article by Christopher Bantick in Melbourne paper "The Age" caught our eye yesterday. Entitled "Faith" Christopher introduced us to Reg, an awkward and somewhat irksome man who died alone during this year's January heatwave.
Reg had been a regular at the local church but had few friends. He had managed to upset more than his fair share of the congregation through his eccentric and sometimes abrasive demeanor. Reg's death went un-noticed for a week
St Paul in his first letter to the corinthians stated "Charity never faileth", Christopher's article explores the congregations reaction to Reg's fate and highlights the most human of afflictions - our unwillingness to ste outside of our comfort zone.

In an article written back in March 2008 Keith Suter's "The Church and Volunteers" refers back to how St Paul changed Christianity from a Jewish sect to a world movement. This reminds us that had St Paul not moved out of his comfort zone, the Christian message may not have enjoyed the reach and following that it has today.
