What happens when Wallmart culture takes over the world? We get Supercapitalism and the gloves come off. As corporations grow in their power and reach the effectiveness of democracy starts to erode. Corporate lobbying, corporate social responsibility and political donations are all hauled under the spotlight in this, Robert Reich's eleventh book. Robert is a professor at the Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California. He also won the Vaclav Havel Foundation Prize in 2003 for his work in the field of economics. Robert served as the United States Secretary of Labor between 1993-1997 under President Bill Clinton and is a regular political commentator. Are we now living through the down side of supercapitalism? What will come next? This book shows us where we have been and gives some insight into our globalized future. A worthwhile read. This book was reviewed on Radio 2GB, Monday 2nd March. The podcast is available via this link: Supercapitalism podcast.
