America Watches In Awe As President Obama Takes Office
Over a million people packed into the mall and hundreds of thousands more lined the route of the inaugural parade to witness first hand the swearing in of Americas first black president. As the world watched on President Obama delivered a moving and personal oath of office heralding this as a new era of personal responsibility.
President Obama had, in the lead up to this day stated that it is not all about him, it is about all Americans. His speech spelt this out, appealing for tolerance and co-operation. Obama pressed upon the nation the need for unity of purpose, the need to carry forward the constitutional promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.
